Time To Get Manly 45: Television - Marquee Moon

I randomly ran across a list of what Esquire magazine claims are "The 75 Albums Every Man Should Own." In this series of posts, I'll explore these manly, manly sounds.

Television - Marquee Moon

After the Ramones and Clash missteps, I'm glad to see Esquire's punk consultant getting things back on track. Television's most acclaimed album is a record that brings music nerds together. Whether you're into punk, prog, classic rock or just love to play air guitar, you'll find something to love here. Marquee Moon is a uniter, not a divider. It also has the power to cancel out the uncoolness of one of your Rush or Yes albums. Which you totally have.

There's nothing uncool about Yes, anyone who says the contrary is just wrong. It's about time people recognized the true value of prog rock. Perhaps, for the average punk fan, Television is indeed a good place to start.
