Time To Get Manly 41: Frank Sinatra - In the Wee Small Hours

I randomly ran across a list of what Esquire magazine claims are "The 75 Albums Every Man Should Own." In this series of posts, I'll explore these manly, manly sounds.

Frank Sinatra - In the Wee Small Hours

If you've ever been so heartbroken that you just want to hug a pillow and cry all day, listening to In the Wee Small Hours while you do so automatically makes your actions acceptably manly. This record is a wounded and vulnerable Frank Sinatra's response to the end of his relationship with Ava Gardner. Sinatra's unflappably cool voice has always kept me from being a true fan, but you can hear the pain and melancholy in the songs of In the Wee Small Hours, so I wholeheartedly endorse it.
