Shut it, L.A.!

Although I am not totally sure, I think this video helps strengthen my argument that L.A. is the worst, and so I like it. A+, Hospitality!

Lightning Love Lightning Love Lightning Love Love Love

I'm SO excited to finally get some new music from Lightning Love. Though I keep accidentally calling the new EP "Girls Like Me," because I know THIS girl sure does...

"Take me to Miami, we can hold handies..."

Have you been listening to the new Leslie Hall album Destination Friendship over and over for the past week or so? No? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

"Oh no... I've got watermelon ALL over my HEAD!"

Austra put out one of my favorite records of 2011, and they're kicking off 2012 right with a new video for the song "Spellwork." The video clearly aims to prove two things:

1. Nobody in this band is weird
2. Witches are real.

The last 30 seconds or so of "Spellwork" was clearly inspired by this:

"I'll never see that girl again..."

Ack! The first single from the new Magnetic Fields album! The news that they'd be putting out a new record in 2012 on MERGE RECORDS was basically all the proof I needed that this year was going to be amazing.

"Why aren't you ever with me?"

There are so many records I'm looking forward to in 2012, but the one I'm possibly most excited about is the new one from Detroit's own Lightning Love. If I were a pacer (I'm not generally; I have other ways in which I express my impatience and anxiety like tearing at my cuticles, screaming into a pillow or setting piles of old National Geographics on fire in my backyard), there would be some serious wear marks in my floor by the time January 31st rolled around, because that's when their new EP Girls Who Look Like Me comes out. You can save your floors some wear and tear by downloading the song "Deadbeat" right now. That should help tide you over for a bit. If you find it's not doing the trick, maybe we should look at starting a support group. We can help each other through this.
