I randomly ran across a list of what Esquire magazine claims are "The 75 Albums Every Man Should Own." In this series of posts, I'll explore these manly, manly sounds.

Elvis Costello - Imperial Bedroom

Esquire's write up for Imperial Bedroom simply says, "If only for 'Beyond Belief.'" As great as that song is, this doesn't seem reason enough to land Imperial Bedroom on any "must own" list. Not that there aren't other good songs on here ("Almost Blue," "The Loved Ones"), but the record as a whole sounds kind of dated in the way many early-80's records do. This Year's Model packs a lot more timeless Costello punch for your man money.
